Great party today! The kids had a blast! Before the party we showed our parents what Read to Someone looks and sounds like during our Daily 5 rotations. Then we rotated through several games and passed out all of our valentines. Thanks again for all of the donations and volunteers who were able to make it to the party.

Human Body
We have been learning all about our bodies. We learned about our heart, lungs, brain, skeleton, muscles and stomach. We even know what each of them do for our bodies. All of the first graders got a 93% or higher on our human body EO!! We made these cool examples of how our body works.
On Tuesday, we spent our afternoon exploring some fun liquid and solid activities. We used vinegar and baking soda to watch what happens with the chemical reaction. We also played with two kinds of slime that acted as a solid but we found out that it was really a liquid because it took the shape of its container. Solids keep their shape and liquids don't have a shape of their own. We also constructed with solids and played with moldable dough. We had lots of fun!!!
