Pumpkin Science & Fall Celebration

Exploring Air

We began our study in science about Air and Weather.  This week we experimented with air.  We learned:
1. Air is invisible.
2. Air is a gas.
3. Air is matter.
4.  Air takes up space.
5.  You can trap air under water.

In these pictures we are exploring air by using vials, a styrofoam ball and a paper towel.  When the kids were asked if they thought they could keep the paper towel in the bottom of their vial dry while submerging it into water they said that's IMPOSSIBLE!  They were surprised when the found out the could do it!!! We love experimenting in science.

Fontenelle Forest

On Monday, our class visited Fontenelle Forest.  We reviewed animal classification that we had been learning about in science.  We even got to see a turtle, a snake and a rabbit.  They were impressed with how much we knew about reptiles and mammals!
