On Tuesday, January 24th we celebrated the 100th day of school. We dressed up like we were 100 years old. It was a great time. We did many activities that all had to do with the number 100. We had a scavenger hunt looking for all the numbers from 0-100. Then, we made 100's crowns. We made fruit loop and lifesaver necklaces by putting them into groups of ten. We needed ten groups of ten to make 100. During we wrote about what we would do with 100 dollars. If only a mansion was 100 dollars. I think the kids had a great day. I know I really enjoyed sharing this special day with your child:)

January Events
Check out what we've been doing in January!!
We read The Mitten by Jan Brett and discussed the differences and similarities between gloves and mittens. Most of our classmates have gloves instead of mittens. Then we read The Hat by Jan Brett and completed a Venn Diagram with both stories. They had many similarities and also numerous differences. It was a great time!!!
We read several books about Martin Luther King Jr. We discussed how we could make the world a more peaceful place. We also learned about Rosa Parks and the bus boycott.
Happy New Year!! We wrote a New Year's Resolution for the upcoming year.
In science we started our unit on matter. We learned matter is everywhere! This week we've been talking about solids and their properties. Here is our list so far!
